Hey,
-your clewhook (the backcorner of the sail) should be tied as close as possible with a piece of rope, or a special strap.
-when reaching put on more vang.
-Upwind ure vang should be as tight as possible in the winds u were sailing.
-When gybing make sure ure daggerboard is up, your vang...
still use rope, maybe harder to rig, but never had it come loose while sailing. the straps tend to do this after a while. Don't wont to take that risk when sailing qualifiers.
but lots of people seem happy about it.
Great location, cant go because i have to work every week till friday, if you find some people to go with, its the easiest to rent a litlle studio at the maeva building. There is a bakery in front of the headentrance, and on the way to the harbor there is a little minimarket on the corner.
We...
Hoping to sail some nice races in holland with the radial, including the europacup @hoorn. The europacup @nieuwpoort, afterwards some training with the standard sail and hopefully compete in the european standard championship in sweden, also a few trainingweeks in france and holland are already...
Hello,
i looked at ure blog, funny, till a year ago i raced a boat that age, 143840, a Performance sailcraft europe. She was in really good shape actualy, but sold her for a good price and bought a 2001 boat. I looked at the pictures, your inside looks normal, the white plugs are the thingies...
I sail the rooster tiller too, still going strong for 2 boats and 4 years now, seen a lot of the XD's break or start splitting after a while, there al also a lot of isues with the new xd tiller: wear plate, clamcleat,....
Most people who bought them here in belgium arent to pleased with it...
it's the lirios mainsheet, have had it with my rooster mainsheet to, i think its because the older sheets were heavier due to waterabsorption. The new sheets dont soak up water end are because of this significantly lighter.
the metal plate falls of without tape, the clamcleat breaks,... did not hear many good things about the new Xd carbon tiller, to huge for my taste, saw them first this summer, looks "cool", but just a little to much. i stick to my rooster one. the pse store is cool indeed. the new tiller is...
cutting down the lower section is possible, already been made for our clubboats, doesnt have the same bending characteristicts, so does not sail as good as the original. wouldnt recommend it.

Hello,
Iam 23 years old, bought my first laser at 15 from an older guy (50 at that time) he was/is the sailor everybody looked up to. After 6 years of lasers, and 3lasers further in my sailingdays, he stil is the man i look up to.So is my trainer, same age, and a smart man with lots of sailing...
it depends, when they are made i heard, i had a very stiff and hard aussie mast, but after to many deathroll's on the ijsselmeer it has a big bend, i had good english mast, but some bad, they have the habbit off bending because of the vang tension after a few months. only have one broken, and i...
Rooster all the way, used mine this year in every possible condition, from warm weather to freezing, from 2 knots of wind to 35 knots, at the last point much swimming involved, and i never lett go of my extension. Already race or train with it every weekend, not even the slightest sign of wear.
i had rivets coming off a boom from a year old (european) now i drill the rivets out when i buy them and put small bolts in them, everlasting and simple to change the blocks
In Belgium its 21% VAT and the price is almost the same as in France, 3dealers in Belgium, but the Belgians also buy from holland and france or even germany
This is the trailer i mean, pretty heavy dolly, as solid as possible. Mine has a rack on top so i can take an other laser on it's deck above, together with one on the rooftop of the car i can tranport 3 lasers, perhaps one deck down in between, butt maybe that is to dangerous, so i am not gone try.
I had a combitrailer from "snipe" apears to be a british company with a dolly with the 3 points under the gunwhale. After 3 years trailing it around, there are quite a few stressmarks and cracks on the hull where the trailer suppported the boat.
Now i use a "Kalf" trailer, a dutch company...
category C is al advertising allowed as ross says, and in laser all races except the olympics are like this. You only have to keep the first 25 % off the hull free for event sponsors i believe. on the sail, you have to manage that the advertisment does not take away the visibility of your...
